Also, Is this valid?: real :: a(5,5) DATA a(1,1), a(3,1), a(1,2), a(3,3) /2*1.0, 2*2.0/ DATA a(2,1) /2.5/ In other words, no overlap in the DATA statements. It is a big difference if we have to search element by element.
