a different attempt
I don't like this patch, as I think it is based on too many assumptions. The
idea is to assume that a clobber:XC is only present in the epilogue (at the
beginning of the epilogue) and fix a couple of bugs in its handling.
I will write more information as soon as I submit the patch to the mailing
list; in the meanwhile, testing is appreciated. Thanks very much in advance.
