I had totally forgotten about this horror. I encountered it whilst writing namelist and just, well, ... forgot it. Add a variable of any other kind to the namelist and the problem goes away. I'll add it to the TODO list. I will also see if Jerry is interested. He knows namelist almost as well as I do. Thanks for reporting this. One way or another we will get onto it asap.
