Yes, it's the latter bug that Richard's patch fixes. I could add that I posted a patch to fix the other bug here: http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-patches/2005-08/msg01861.html I'm not yet sure if this is the best way to deal with the problem, though. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=15809
