Daniel Berlin's patch of June 20 has fixed bug 22016 - a duplicate of this. Builds of GCC after this patch had been applied would successfully compile CVS postgres, the package I found that would fail. I believe this bug can be closed now. -- http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=22014
