gcc-4.0.0 configures aparently OK from the directory the tarball was unzipped, but fails during "make all". The error message is:
updating cache ./config.cache configure: creating ./config.status config.status: creating Makefile config.status: executing default-1 commands ./config.status: line 910: ./../../config-ml.in: No such file or directory make: *** [configure-zlib] Error 1 I am installing under a completelly updated version of FC3. The system was freshly installed last week, the machine is an HP Pavilion zt3000 laptop. I have previosly compiled and installed several versions of gcc without problems. I installed mpfr-2.1.1 from a tarball before gcc. I seems to me that line 910 in config.status of zlib directory points to one directory above the gcc-4.0.0 dir created while unzipping the tarball. -- Summary: gcc.4.0.0 instalation fails while making all Product: gcc Version: 4.0.0 Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: critical Priority: P2 Component: other AssignedTo: unassigned at gcc dot gnu dot org ReportedBy: csevcik at ivic dot ve CC: gcc-bugs at gcc dot gnu dot org http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=21431
