[Bug fortran/20440] New: error with fixed form one-liner

the following valid fixed-form program is rejected by gfortran:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] tests]$ cat fix.f
      STOP IT = NOW; END
[EMAIL PROTECTED] tests]$ g77 fix.f
[EMAIL PROTECTED] tests]$ gfortran fix.f
Error: Unexpected end of file in 'fix.f'
[EMAIL PROTECTED] tests]$
