Could you show me how to configure a cris-axis-elf target and build a simulator? Have you tried undoing the tree-into-ssa.c change? It should be easy with: $ cvs up -r 2.40 tree-into-ssa.c If there had been a bug in the tree-into-ssa.c changes we would be seeing widespread carnage on every target.
