I played a round a bit and discovered this: When trying to make a package to a long and deep path (as I did originally) packages for Debia/Ubuntu fail with error above When trying to make the same package in User home or on Desktop it works!! Could too long path names me problematic for Debian/Ubuntu package making? Anyway, I succeeded in making the package just by changing to another location with a shorter path.
