Burghard Ilge:

I thank you sincerely for your gracious reply below to my first and second
post to list ATTAC. But it is I who owe you an apology for not, in your
words, "sending a separate mail containing information about the content of
the URL to the attac list. (which would also have prevented my
inappropriate reaction)."

A separate email follows, to list ATTAC only, containing my post of 99-04-12
16:08:17 EDT, Subj: "Changes to the Global Model, since the 1994 update."

Please forgive my error of omission which caused this tempest in a teapot.

Sincerely,

Wesley S. Burt

dear all,

my direct posting to WesBurt was based on wrong assumptions and I have to
appologise for my inappropriate reaction.

I read in the subject line: (Fwd) family policy
and than :
<<
 Hi,
I am hoping to research the area of lone-parents for a PhD. I would
like to look at how the choices made by single parents regarding
employment and training schemes are affected by the information
 available. >>

After that I made the mistake not to continue reading carefully. Otherwise
I would have realised that this was not a mail request from a PhD student
to the attac list asking for information about *single parents employment
and training schemes*, but a reply to the PhD student which was forwarded
to the attac list.

Wile my posting was based on wrong assumptions because of my mistake not to
read the full mail carefully this does not excuse my harsh (nearly
hysteric) language I used. I just was very angry, and one should not react
to a posting when one is very angry.

I therefore seriously apologise for both flaws !

>From the posting of WesBurt one could only conclude that the URL contains
*information that is withheld from parenting families in the English
speaking nations* giving nearly no information about the real content of
the URL.
I think It would have been much more useful if he would have taken the
effort to send a separate mail containing information about the content of
the URL to the attac list. (which would also have prevented my
inappropriate reaction).
[for those interested see an excerpt from the URL below]

I seriously regret my posting and want to apologise to Wes Burt, Penny L
Cairns (the PhD student) and the readers of this list for inconvenience and
for my inappropriate reaction.

sincerely

Burghard Ilge

WELCOME, you have found the only technically valid global model on the
internet, a global model which fairly illustrates both the macro and micro
aspects of the present condition of our global industrial society.
This model is simple, but profound, because it addresses certain aspects of
our present condition which are conspicuously missing from the content of
other web sites which discuss global issues....

---snip--

....The subject global model, consisting of a macro-model, Figures1 through
6 (Fig. 4 and 5 omitted), and a micro-model, Figures 7 through 9, has been
evolving in my mind for about 46 years. It has its ancient roots in the
corporations established in Rome in the days of King Numa, according to
Emile Durkheim in his 1902 preface to the second edition of his THE
DIVISION OF LABOR IN SOCIETY, and its modern roots in the practice of
corporate management, not as promulgated by Peter Drucker or Paul A.
Samuelson, but as practiced in the General Electric Company and in the
Electric Power Industry in the 1950s. So you ask: what can the study of
these greedy and powerful multi-national corporations and power-outage
prone utility corporations teach us about the ongoing transformation of our
world, which our poets, prophets, and philosophers call "globalization?"
