A little over a year ago, I posted to the Futurework list a message quoting
a prediction from a 1957 Life magazine that guided missles loaded with
letters were being planned for the distant future. Brad McCormick replied,
pointing out that in London during the V-2 assaults it was said that you
were safe if you heard it coming because the rocket travelled faster than
its propaganda.
Tomorrow, at the Moat Gallery of the Vancouver Public Library,
Futurework/metamorphosis will go on exhibit as part of the Word on the
Street festival. Futurework/metamorphosis is a "pop-up book" based on my
reply to Brad McCormick's post (which was a treatment for a pop-up book,
provisionally titled "Flight of the Postmodern, 1957").
An online version of Futurework/metamorphosis has been launched to:
http://www.vcn.bc.ca/timework/mail.htm
and will remain online for the duration of the VPL exhibition.
Regards,
Tom Walker
