Well, if they aren't 100% self-sufficient, they barter or participate in
money economy, both known as "market".

It has in the past & it could in the future, although drastic system
changes are required.

Feedback of relative values between people is ongoing and everchanging.
Markets are flexible and sensative deliverers of some of this information.
Capitalism can exist without debt creation as the sole method of money
creation.  (alternative currency systems)
