hi,

well, physically my brand new asus 500gp is right in front of me. i
could even touch it ;-)

but if i do an "iwlist eth1 scan" on my laptop the router does not show up.

i installed latest stable freewrt and just try to find my way around.

this is from lspci:
01:02.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One
54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller (rev 02)

that's why i use
Linux FreeWRT 2.4.33.3 #2 Sat Feb 16 21:41:12 CET 2008 mips unknown
with broadcom drivers

this is from my /etc/network/interfaces:
auto eth2p
iface eth2 inet static
        address 10.0.10.1
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        broadcast +
        wireless-type broadcom
# wireless-country DE
        wireless-txpower 255
        wireless-afterburner 1
        wireless-mode ap
        wireless-ssid FreeWRT
        wireless-channel 6

if i do "ifup eth2" it gives me
wsec is 0 (off)
which is true

after (not) bringing up the interface

lsmod shows no usecounts for wl and wlcompat is that correct?

wlcompat 14896 0 (unused)
wl 423640 0 (unused)

i am loging to a remote machine but can't find any illuminating things
in the logs.

no idea how to debug further.

any help appreciated.

thanx,

/markus
