Although I am curious to know— what fraction of the time would you
estimate various stages to take? From what I understand, it sounds
like roughly 50% would involve designing the database and 50%
implementing it, but it’s hard for me to know.
My gut feeling says it's about 30% design and 70% implementation.
Most likely, it is an iterative process, i.e., the first try will
fail, the second try will probably work so-so, the third try gives
mostly good results with some prominent errors, etc., etc.
After thinking about this, I believe I will not be able to do this
project. I would still be very interested in contributing to FreeType at
some point, but for GSoC the timing on my side just doesn’t work out.
