Welcome back, David! If you still enjoy coding the renderers... We need to implement a color one and deal with FT_Glyph and FT_GlyphSlot insufficiencies for that. I made some progress in the "color" branch but lost steam. This is for modern COLR/CPAL emoji fonts. The goal is to make them work seamlessly even with FTC caching. The renderer itself has been implemented in the "color" branch. To store the layer make-up and colors, I used FT_GlyphSlot->subglyphs and expanded FT_OultineGlyph. Two things are still needed but I lack the knowledge: (1) parsing of COLR/CPAL into subglyphs and (2) fitting FTC for color bitmaps. I would love to recruit your help here. Thank you, Alexei
