We run a perl script that checks if the servers are responding to
requests. It can send OPTIONS, and PING requests to various servers
periodically. If the response it gets back isn't correct, it can send
e-mail. It'll keep testing and send an e-mail again when the system is
working again. It's defaults setup for testing sipXecs servers, but it's
easy enough to set the various command line arguments to point it at
FreeSWITCH directly.
