Hi Nicola, When you run dmidecode or ipmi-locate, does it find IPMI on your system? Your error messages make me wonder if it's even available.
Normally you don't need to install a driver, but there could be an issue if the IPMI kernel driver is built into your kernel. See: http://www.gnu.org/software/freeipmi/freeipmi-faq.html#Why-am-I-seeing-so-many-_0027internal-IPMI-error_0027-messages_003f Al On Mon, 2013-06-24 at 23:32 +0200, Nicola Pedrozzi wrote: > Hello Albert, > I had some over-heating issues with my office linux-PC that forced me to > replace > a couple of fans and the whole CPU cooling system. > > That's why I'd really like to have in place free-ipmi as my monitoring tool. > > As root I installed latest free-ipmi 1.2.8 on > > .
