I used "Forum" on www.freedos.org because I used to get a lot of emails from folks asking if there was a place to talk about FreeDOS with other FreeDOS users. They were looking for a link called "Forums" .. the old "Email lists" link name didn't help these people find the email lists. (I think the newer generation is more used to web forums like on Facebook and Slack, but will use email lists when they realize that's what we use.) > > At least, I would prefer we use a web-based forum, because that way, > > threads about not concluded subjects remains (supposing no one erase > > them), while with mailing lists these subjects just tend to get > > forgotten. There are some administrative headaches that go with maintaining a web forum. But the more practical reason is we just don't need it. Every time a "web forum" has been proposed here, we haven't been interested. And I'm perfectly fine with keeping the email lists as our primary way to communicate with each other. Don't need to fix that. Jim _______________________________________________ Freedos-devel mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/freedos-devel
