I'm not aware of this, but they were probably right as BACKUP/RESTORE belong to the worse 10% of backup/restore programs ever done. > As of right now, they are back in the tops of my to-do list, I hope > to have a recreated version of early in the new year, https://www.ibiblio.org/pub/micro/pc-stuff/freedos/files/dos/backup/ points to files that are 20 years old. don't hurry. OTOH zip/unzip (and similar programs) are (a) much better then backup/restore as they compress (and might even preserve LFN, given the version/age) (b) available NOW (since 20+ years), not next year (whenever that happens to be) just give up BACKUP/RESTORE; don't wqaste precious life time on deap programs. however it would be cool to SAY SO, so that other people don't waste their precious live time on investigating dead stuff.
