Hi again,

by looking at the more verbose

instead of just the mail summary

I noticed that blocking item 2 mentions:

Include XMGR and FDXMS in the BonusCD, "to give people
alternatives in case of problems with HIMEM or JEMMEX."

While I appreciate adding XMGR, this is much more of a
"nice to have" than adding UHDD (next to UDVD2 and the
ELTORITO driver) which is not mentioned on the wiki yet
but would be pretty important to have. LBACACHE even is
still in "base" in spite of having been superseded by
UHDD for all practical purposes ages ago, yet UHDD got
tucked away on the bonus CD while it should have been
loaded at boot both by the installer and the installed
default FreeDOS base system as far as I am concerned.
You can keep LBACACHE in "full", where CDRCACHE already
is. That can be used to cache ELTORITO during install,
because UHDD itself only caches UDVD2 and fixed disks.

> 2. FDAPM ("parse larger ACPI blocks")
> 3. CTMOUSE ("become 8086 compatible")
> 4. NGE NIBBLES ("improve documentation")
> 5. CDROM2 ("add STOP and UPC commands")
> 6. CDRCACHE ("remove messages about raw access")

7. The documentation of MODE is outdated, still mentions
disk head parking, lacks CODEPAGE and text mode details.

Those are nice to have UPDATES, how about all nice to
have ADDITIONS discussed earlier, such as the system
info, media players, image viewers and other categories,
of course only with suitable license?

For system info, I recommend INFOPLUS 1.58, which is
better than compinfo we include neither yet, while MS
DOS had MSD, so you could even argue that INFOPLUS
should become "base". Same argument for FDSHIELD :-)

Packages such as XFDISK and FDSHIELD should be moved
to more visible categories, not limited to Bonus CD,
also RDISK. But GCDROM and UIDE can be moved to Bonus,
those should be replaced by UDVD2 and UHDD for "base".

We already include DOS Navigator and DOSZIP commander
as file managers, might want to advertise that more?

Same for some smaller, useful compilers/assemblers,
maybe NASM, JWASM, FASM, FBC, FPC, INSIGHT, UPX. OW?

> 2. Replace HTML Help with AMB Help (both will be available in FreeDOS
> 1.3, will switch completely to AMB Help in next release)
> 3. New packages not already included in RC4

Would be cool if 386SWAT and DPMIONE could be added
already in 1.3, this and adding HX would in no way
impact other packages, which would justify deferring
addition to 2.0, as long as licenses are fine.
