as for any one else here. > In the > meantime, would anyone else like to compile this and help test it? even if anyone else could compile this: how exactly would you test this? although a) I'm fairly experienced in anyDOS undocumented stuff b) there is a fairly well *intended* descpription of this bug c) I understand (most of) the magic words as SYSVAR, LOL, CDS, I am not able to *immediatly*, or even *after some thought* see the problem. that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. it only means it's not easy to understand or reproduce. given that it's in the network redirector, which is mostly unused in freedos with the exception of CDROM interface, few problems would show in freedos. it would be cool for the providers of the patch to provide an example of the problem. anyway: how 'compile this and help test it' would help is completely beyond my understanding. testing requires an understanding (in this case, a deep understanding) of the issue, and probably writing some test program(s). giving a problematic test program would help. you don't need many people to test bugs. you need one program to test for a specific bug.
