Too much to quote here regarding BASIC interpreters and compilers, but one BASIC compiler I remember is Microsoft BASIC Professional Development System for DOS.
I don't think this is available any more, it was closed-source proprietary, clearly not a candidate for inclusion in FreeDOS, but of historical interest. Microsoft quit DOS long ago and went to Visual BASIC for Windows, I've lost track of the current status of MS BASIC on Windows.
