The makefile is mostly a no-op these days. And Japheth already (2010!)
did a fix that works with newer JWasm and now doesn't even need a
linker anymore. (Stupid Embarcadero and their "can't redistribute"
rule, ugh!!)

I do remember a thread on BTTR about this, so if you enjoy details,
here it is (was):

"CuteMouse v2.1b4 - some fixes" (09.August.2010)

CuteMouse v2.1b4 was converted by E. Auer to JWasm syntax in 2008.
This version is slightly outdated now and, worse, won't assemble with
newer versions of JWasm ( there was a patch posted in the FreeDOS
mailing list, but this didn't cure all issues ). Here's a fixed
version.

I've now gone ahead and uploaded this "update" (also) to iBiblio. I
moved all the much older versions to "old/" (N.B. This might possible
break some very rare links somewhere). I also made two symlinks to
make it more obvious which is which.

I don't think you need EXE2BIN but instead the (already included) COM2EXE util!
