I don't see how this could be a FreeDOS problem. NMI (at least when not in a VM) is controlled by hardware, not software. The only thing that software (FreeDOS) can do is manage what happens when the NMI is generated -- I don't think there's any way (with software) to control whether NMI is generated at all.
