Works for me so far, at least for Tdsk, SHSUCDX and SUBST. Didn't test
MS-Client ('d have to dig up some ModBoot or Nwdsk bootdisk images for
that). Tried Georg's DOSUSB drivers, which in my opinion might need a
bit more defensive programming :)
(errorlevels, install checks etc).
Ignoring the batch script file's advice (used on the download package of
those drivers), by not inserting USB flash drive. USBDOS happily loads
(well, the USB2.0 version, I don't have USB3) and afterwards DEVLOAD the
USBDISK.SYS.
That installs E: just fine (D: being cdrom) with the issue being there's
no flash drive (contents) behind that driveletter as I didn't
install/insert one. A bit like TDSK.
Pretty sure the IOMEGA drivers happily aborted in the past whenever
being unable to find a ZIP drive.
I'd assume this as only working loading order:
1) insert flash disk
2) load USBDOS
3) load USBDISK.SYS
Not:
1) load USBDOS
2) load USBDISK, get assigned E:
3) now what? DIR E: ? insert flash disk?
Nor:
1) insert flash disk
2) load USBDISK.SYS
3) load USBDOS

I'll take this in as DEVLOAD 3.23. Your own decision if you prefer
implementing Christian Masloch's improvements and perhaps even some
additional features.
