oops - I was wrong. I misread the UEFI web site.
I was wrong that it costs $2500/year in fees to UEFI group to develop for
UEFI+GPT. it doesn't cost any money.
The UEFI+GPT Adopter gets a complementary membership. just check it out at
http://www.uefi.org/join/ and specs are free for downloading and viewing. so,
essentially, go for it. it only costs money if you wish to make changes to the
spec.
