Can you tell something about FAST and SOFA? Do they already work in DOS?

It would be good if you could get an official okay from him.

I was referring to the fact that the author of eltorito.sys is Dutch
and may have Dutch comments in the source code - by translating them
to English for him, we could help him if he has no time to update the
comments himself. Other aspects of clean-up involve for example making
makefiles etc more neutral (remove hardcoded paths to things which are
only at place X on Bart's own PC, if necessary) or resolve dependencies
on things that are not public. For example there could be some include
files for which we could make stripped down versions which can be put
inside a published version of the sources. Last but not least, software
can contain private comments and scribbles which only the author can
understand, those would have to be removed before publishing to avoid
confusing others and to avoid publishing internal information... :-).

Of course all those examples are based on GUESSING - I never saw any
form of the eltorito.sys sources yet, not even a raw copy of whatever
they look like on Bart's own computer. He also did not explain why it
takes work to publish the sources, but I assume that it does take work
as otherwise he could just upload a zip with the raw files and add a
note like "do whatever you want with it" for example, which he did not.

I do remember that making free-EMM386 sources useful for others involved
adding comments and translating German comments to English, long ago.

Eric
