Subject: [Freedos-user] Loading old DOS programs under FreeDOS
To: [email protected]

Hi -

I had some problems loading my favorite DOS word processor (Word 5.5)
under FreeDOS. This program is a download from the web, so I'm loading
from a directory on my hard drive rather than from floppy disks.
When I run Setup.exe, I get a bunch of error statements (about half of
the screen) and the install aborts. I tried this under both FAT16 and
FAT32 FreeDOS installs with the same results. The program loads fine
under MS-DOS 6.22, and runs thereafter under FreeDOS FAT16 with no
problem. I'd like to run FAT32 without MS-DOS 6.22 resident and be
able to use this program. Any ideas on what I can do to load it from
FreeDOS on a FAT32 partition?
Thanks!
