Hi, > >http://support.microsoft.com/kb/69581 > >how could one interpretate that +,, ?
Actually our COPY neither supports appending to a file yet (quite annoying), even though it does support concatenating some files to create a new file. Nor does it support using , placeholders to pass empty parameters. Actually this sounds WinNT stylish to me, does MS DOS 6 copy support that? > It's explained just below on that page: The page explains how you can use COPY to append nothing to a file, which has the same effect as doing TOUCH file (we do have a touch tool :-)). By the way, I recommend to paste or explain a bit of the things that you can read on the page every time when you post an URL. It really makes things hard to find in the list archive AND hard to read if you just say: "Hey, what do you think about the http blabla forum somewhere?". I would prefer to read something like "Hey, MS says you can use COPY to TOUCH a file, see http ... what do you think?". Same suggestion for updates - do not mail "there is an update at http blabla bye". Better mail "there is an update at ... which improves ...". Thank you :-). > >Therefore, with the above command, the /b > forces the COPY command into binary mode, > the >appended, and the ,, (commas) are > placeholders for the remaining parameters (which > are >not included in this example).
