Not so long ago I made my first test of FreeDOS in a real *user* machine. It worked very well in a fairly heavy database application wit mostly small aesthetic problems.

Exept for one problem that mde me *remove* FreeDOS: when writing diskettes with a backup programs only the first floppy works as expected. From then on, only a small portion is written (to the end of the disk) and it dets very very slow.

If I exit the program and start again, the behaviou is reset, that is, firts disk is ok and next disks not.

I belive this is a *disc*change*detection* problem because what little is written to the disk is at the end of the fat, in an area corresponding to the free space that existed in the first disk before writing to it. All disk are ok if checked with both scandisk and norton.

It was very frustating to remove FreeDOS from a real user after all these years of progress.

Please help me...
Alain
PS. whaen I first reported this, it was summer hollydays and most developers where not reacheable... :((
