I use packet drivers in user machines. In some situations I have to disable the internal NIC and insert an off-board NIC. It would be much better to use the on-board one :)

Incidentaly I use the Intel 100Mbps packet driver from crynwr on my Toshiba, but it does not work in newer motherboards :(

I got the updates from there, thanks, but it is only for 8255x chips, I understand that some boards have different chips. Anyway, I don't have any Intel MB here, I will test the new version ASAP
