Hello Bernd, > So if an add-on to HIMEM would fit in this size, it doesn't matter if I > put 'current HIMEM + current FDXMS286' on a bootdisk, > or 'unified 286+ XMS driver by Tom Ehlert and Michael Devore'.
it DOES matter, scince this would include FDXMS286 (or something similar) on EVERY bootdisk. BTW: if you want to distribute a bootdisk, that works everywhere (incl. 8086), you MUST be able to work without HIMEM (and other stuff). and if you CAN work without HIMEM etc., why bother to put it on this universal bootdisk at all ? tom ------------------------------------------------------- SF email is sponsored by - The IT Product Guide Read honest & candid reviews on hundreds of IT Products from real users.
