Hello,

I got change another PC to test FreeDOS, because it's faster and have
a USB port. But the latest EMM386 [Nov 15] will hangup when "VDS"
enabled.

I don't have a solution to fix these incompatibilities, as it could almost literally take having the exact machine setup to duplicate. You could try temporarily excluding everything in upper memory (no UMB's) to rule out the possibility of a UMB/DMA conflict there.

Forget trying that test. EMM386 turns off VDS when all UMB's are excluded. That's what the common people call a "bug", programmer cliche' calls a "feature", and sophisticates like me call "unauthorized code modification by a dog when my back was turned".

I'm going to make my dog fix it, though.
