Hi Aitor,
I use this: Vice-Versa http://www.tgrmn.com/ it is not free (US$80 2 cpus) it has bugs, but it is very good.
In the near future I will try this: Unison http://www.cis.upenn.edu/~bcpierce/unison it is free, good, Win/Linux, ssh, rsync, has extensive configurations, etc..
Bothe have databases, but use it diferently. The database is a very important feature: without it, you cannot, as an example move or delete a file and have it replicated in the other machine.
Both programs also make copy of everything it deletes. Unison just is harder to configure and I think (not sure) it misses one thing: a side by side view of averything that will be done. This is very important in the Notebook/desktop scenario.

Hi there,
Sorry for the OT, does anyone know of a good and free (to download, not necc. open source) Win32 program that can be used to synchronise the contents of a folder A with the contents of a folder B, that is, copies and replaces all the files in B that are newer than files in A or inexistent in A (no need to touch folder B)?
Ok, I could use Windows Explorer, but it has two problems:
(1) I don't like that it is not recursing directories very nicely (it says it will replace files without confirmation). This problem is more or less ok, because I think in A there aren't files newer than those in B, but
(2) Explorer will overwrite ALL files, thus it can be slow. I would prefer it if it would not overwrite files that match in last modification date, e.g.
Any suggestions wellcome, specially if they are prompt (I'd love to do this sync before this weekend).
Cheers to all,
Aitor
