Our friends at VIA did not originally bundle the entire set of DOS drivers therefore MB mfg.'s did not include the necessary VIAFMTSR.COM DOS audio driver on their driver CD's. The following is the magic firing order in the config.sys to load the VIA audio drivers. It works every time! Only thing is these chips as I said earlier are becoming scarce. LOADHIGH VIAUDIO.COM LOADHIGH VIAFMTSR.COM SET BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 P330 The DOS mixerset will not work because it is not supported ... big surprise eh... It seems like the hardware mfg.'s think their job is done as long as a "certain OS" is supported.
