I want to know if whether I can install from a floppy or if I have to burn the files on a CD & go from there.

usually from cd. Another option is to ask me to put all FreeDOS files in a single ZIP file. then download it, and unpack. Now there's your FreeDOS. only thing missing then is the system files (kernel.sys, command.com). I also recommend to setup a dualboot system then. it involves: 1)saving current Win98 bootsector (512-byte area which points to io.sys/msdos.sys) to file 2)creating the dualboot loader 3)updating bootsector to point to dualboot loader.

let me know what you want.
