Hi, I just got sent a nice technical documentation collection URL: http://ulita.ms.mff.cuni.cz/pub/techdoc/
Features information about: IrDA, GSM, DPMI/EMS/VCPI/XMS, RBIL60 (current is 61), i2c over LPT, PE/COFF, DCF77, CIFS, Win32 API differences among Windows versions, OpenGL, DOM, XSL, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, Java, C++, Unicode, RIFF WAVE, MIDI, other music file formats, PostScript, PDF, USB, AGP, SCSI, PCI, PnP, ESCD, yATX, ATX, ATA / ATAPI, Intel8x0 chipsets (e.g. i810), Intel 450NX and 440BX, MMX, IA-64, Crusoe, Sparc, Alpha 21164, Motorola 68000 - 68060, AMD 3DNow!, AMD Athlon, AMD-750 chipset, Pentium IV, Pentium Pro / II / III, Pentium, Great Microprocessors of the Past and Present 11.4.3, i386. Eric. PS: I used PC-Config 9.33 (now freeware) to measure my memory speed (100 MHz FSB, SDRAM, VIA Apollo MVP3 Tekram board) -> Graphics RAM 1/107, Text RAM 1/206, VGA BIOS 1/20, UMBs and system BIOS 1/44 of the maximum PLUS at 16 MB / 32 MB / ... after the video RAM and ROMs/UMBs 1/6 and 1/2.6-1/1.3 of the maximum speed. Any idea what could be the cause of the latter effect (slow access at slow area + multiple of 16 MB)? Finally, I found a tool at Maxtor.com which reduces Quantum Fireball lct10 speed from UDMA66 to UDMA33 because Intel 430TX/440LX/440BX, VIA 586A/586B/ 596/686, SiS 5598/5591/5600/530/620 and Ali 1543C/1533A-J/1543A1-F cannot handle UDMA66 properly (I use the 586(B) on my board with manually selected UDMA33 in Linux: UDMA44 seems to work as well but UDMA66 fails). Interesting. Eric. ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net is sponsored by: Speed Start Your Linux Apps Now.
