Hello, I'm running KDE 3.1.4 under FreeBSD 5.2-CURRENT. I want to upgrade to KDE 3.2.1, and I've tried this a number of ways, using the ports system: I've tried using 'portupgrade kde' and also in smaller chunks like 'portupgrade kdelibs' and 'portupgrade kdebase', and I've tried doing
#cd /usr/ports/x11/kdelibs3/ #make depend #make #make install and every time I get through the kdelibs build with no problems, and get the same error when it tries to install: #################################### ===>Installingforkdelibs-3.2.1 ===>kdelibs-3.2.1conflictswithinstalledpackage(s): kdebase-3.1.4 Theyinstallfilesintothesameplace. Pleaseremovethemfirstwithpkg_delete(1). *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/x11/kdelibs3. *** Error code 1 Stop in /usr/ports/x11/kde3. ** Command failed [exit code 1]: /usr/bin/script -qa /tmp/portupgrade32717.0 make ** Fix the problem and try again. ** The following packages were not installed or upgraded (*:skipped / !:failed) !x11/kde3(kde-3.1.4)(newcompilererror) bash-2.05b# #################################### So, of course, I could try pkg_delete-ing kdebase, but I'm a bit reluctant to bugger up a working installation, just in case that doesn't actually solve the problem, or something else goes wrong, leaving me with no desktop! Of course I could install another, temporary deaktop in case... Or is it possibly a problem with the port? Any ideas? Thanks very much Ben _______________________________________________ [EMAIL PROTECTED] mailing list http://lists.freebsd.org/mailman/listinfo/freebsd-questions To unsubscribe, send any mail to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"
