Hello,

This is an ugly first draft / proof of concept, but it appears to work. If you have been interested in seeing how the OrioleDB storage engine works compared to the standard PostgreSQL storage engine and don't want to run Linux or Docker to find out, you can try using this repo as a ports tree overlay to build the OrioleDB patched PostgreSQL server and the extension:

https://github.com/feld/orioledb-overlay/

The software is still considered "beta" and isn't really versioned properly (extension is released as "beta19" but internally the extension is at "1.10").

This overlay completely takes over the databases/postgresql18-* ports, so you can't just add the overlay and build it beside your existing postgres packages. I would dedicate a package repo just for playing with this.

Cheers,

Mark
