Yeah, there was an issue with the most recent ports update I ran.
It seems that Postfix wants lmdb v1.n, while Samba wants lmdb v0.9.
It appears that I could only install one or the other. If I wanted
Samba, Postfix uninstalled. If I wanted Samba, Postfix was uninstalled.
Samba 4.23, 4.24 and 4.25 have some option when building to choose
between lmdb v0 or lmdb v1, since 2 weeks.
Kind regards

My original reply was not directed to the mailing list. I am correcting
that now.
With a correction to my wording ...
Thank-you for mentioning that.
But for me, I prefer to just install the default port that appears when
I install or update the ports I use. That has worked in the 20+ years
that I have been using FreeBSD here on my home network.
[And, for me, I have to say, I found an excellent solution to the issue
I faced in the base system of FreeBSD: dma. It does exactly what I need.]
That's the wording I want to correct. I did not intend to imply that I
had an issue with the FreeBSD base system.
Let me try again...
And, for me, I have to say, to resolve the ports conflict I experienced ...
I found an excellent solution in the base system of FreeBSD: dma. It
does exactly what I need.
OK, that aside, if Samba has that option available to choose between
those two versions, why did the default version of the port still cling
to the apparently incompatible version of lmdb?
