Right. I meant going -stable will "lift me out of binary ports [support]". So the verdict is to hunt down OpenOffice packages manually and install them so that portupgrade ignores them, then go from there. ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-8-stable/ seems to have what `portupgrade -P` should expect, right? So I wouldn't have to move from stable to release+sec.
