For now try the following workaround:

  $ pkg install llvm40
  $ env CC=clang40 CXX=clang++40 CPP=clang-cpp40 make clean all deinstall 
install -C/usr/ports/www/firefox

Given how fragile i386 I often undertest amd64 runtime except for -CURRENT.
