with newly CVSup'd sources (I cannot compile the bootblocks..)
(also with everything checked out to PRE_SMPNG)

any suggestions gratefully accepted, as teh UPDATING file says
we should recompile this.....
(yes I deleted /sys/boot and re-checked it out)
