Hi!
I switched to the ata IDE driver some time ago. Since then, booting
stops for about 30 seconds when the driver is installed. It didn't
happen when using the old wd driver.
I'm using
controller ata0
device atadisk0 # ATA disk drives
in my kernel.
>From dmesg:
...
isab0: <Intel 82371AB PCI to ISA bridge> at device 4.0 on pci0
ata-pci0: <Intel PIIX4 IDE controller> at device 4.1 on pci0
ata-pci0: Busmastering DMA supported
ata0 at 0x00x1f0 irq 14 on ata-pci0
Here booting stops for quite a while and then continues.
chip1: <UHCI USB controller> irq 19 at device 4.2 on pci0
chip2: <Intel 82371AB Power management controller> at device 4.3 on pci0
ahc0: <Adaptec aic7890/91 Ultra2 SCSI adapter> irq 19 at device 6.0 on pci0
ahc0: aic7890/91 Wide Channel A, SCSI Id=7, 16/255 SCBs
...
Is there anything I'm doing wrong or is there a timeout that can be decreased?
Ciao,
Thomas.
