Howdy all,

The audio download for the 2013-05-29 show of the Melbourne 3RRR radio
show Byte Into It has finally gone online. We discussed some topics
relevant to software freedom, including:

  * The Australian Government Information Management Office has decided to
standardise its office documents to the Open Document format.

  * Interesting developments in the world of software patenting:

    * The New Zealand government has declared that a computer program is
not an invention, and is not patentable.

    * The US state of Vermont is legislating against software "patent
      trolls".

    * The German parliament has resolved that patents on software
restricted developers' rights, and that software is best covered
      by copyrights rather than patents.

  * Dominic Spill joins the team to discuss his work in open network
security, and his projects Ubertooth and Daisho.
