The Australian Law Reform Commission is having an Inquiry into Copyright law. They are
examining whether the current exceptions in the Act need to be modified in the context of
what they call "the emerging digital economy".

While their extensive list of questions appear to me to predominantly centre
around text and audiovisual materials (for example, issues such as format
shifting, archival, and data mining), any changes they recommend will of course
affect software too.

The Commission is seeking input from interested parties up until mid November,
and have an online submission form.
