Catozzo invented the perforating splicer, that used unperforated tape and cut new holes in the tape with dies as you made the splice. These are very fast and convenient and projectionists love them, but the chad that gets punched out of the holes always winds up where it doesn't belong. Splicers using perforated tape like the modern Hollywood Film splicers were in common use before Catozzo invented the guillotine splicer.
