Hello Kornelia, While it is not about travelogues per se, I think an excellent resource for your work is Scott MacDonald's book The Garden in the Machine, about how filmmakers (as wildly varied as Babette Mangolte and Spike Lee) express place and landscape in their work. It is a lively, bright and broad-reaching book, and may help in your research. Plus it is an absolute joy to read.
