You don't even need a darkroom to process 3-foot lengths, just a changing
bag and a stainless reel.  I did it for years in hotel bathrooms, the 
required resources are pretty minimal.  If you're using a slow print film
(which you probably are for rayographs) you can get away with murder.

Cine labs won't do short lengths of film, but a still film lab will.  Still,
it's a lot cheaper to do at home and having instant turnaround is a big 
advantage.

If the reason that you can't hand-process is that you have a contact allergy
to hydroquinone, try the Kodak Xtol developer which won't make you break out.
