Have been paying attention to this mailing list for about a year now, and I must say, this project really looks promising.
I'm using Ubuntu Gutsy, and only problem I've had so far (except from old ImageMagick libs, which are now fixed) is with gksu. The "problem" is that when having enrolled more than one finger, the gksu program will not alert the user about which finger is being expected. I don't know if it's a good idea or not, but are there any thoughts on comparing against all enrolled fingers? Also tested with gdm, and it seems it suffers from the same a few of the same issues as kdm. Having to enter username before being able to scan is no big surprise, seeing as it doesn't make sense to contant pam before you have a username to authenticate. It also seems that the message from the pam module will be shown as a popup message _after_ the authentication is verified. To make a long story short, libfprint works like a charm with Digital Persona scanner on Ubuntu Gutsy, and the pam_fprint is truly a work of genius! Looking forward to follow this project further, and thanks for blowing some life into my long forgotten fingerprint scanner ;-) - Torkild _______________________________________________ fprint mailing list [email protected] http://lists.reactivated.net/mailman/listinfo/fprint
